Business Statistics Report Prevelance and Alternatives
Question: Describe about the Business Statistics Report for Prevelance and Alternatives. Answer: Introduction This report presents the statistics from the data supplied by the Ordinary Peoples Bank. This report presents a number of key findings apart from presenting the summary statistics of all the key 6 variables. It is important to point out that random sample of 50 observation were selected and all the calculation was based on this sample observations. Analysis Descriptive Statistics The first variable for which we present the descriptive statistics is transaction (in whole dollars). The mean of the observation is 7,700 dollars. The median is 8,000 dollars. The mode is 10,000 dollars. The graphical representation has been presented in Appendix 1. The next variable for which the summary account is presented is Open Account. Essentially, in my sample there were 5 individuals with accounts not opened whereas the remaining individuals totaling 45 had accounts opened. The graphical representation has been presented in Appendix 2. The mean of balance in the dollars of the sample is 606.14. The median of the balance is 390. The mode of balance is 0. The graph of the Account balance in dollars has been presented in Appendix 3. The mean age of the sample is 60 years. The median age of the sample is 61 years. The mode age of the sample is 51 years. The graph of the age has been presented in Appendix 4. The sex of the sample has been categorized as 1 for males and 0 for females. The associated graph has been shown in the Appendix 5. The type of account is characterized as 1 for Visa and 0 for both savings and cheque. The associated graph has been shown in Appendix 6 (Isotolo, n.d). Confidence Interval The average age of account holders for the open accounts only is 60 years. The lower bound of the age for 95% confidence interval is 56.33. The upper bound of the age for 95% confidence interval is 63.17. In other words, it can be said with 95% confidence that the average age of the true sample (which includes 1000 observation, in our case) lies between 56.33 and 63.17. The relevant calculation has been shown in Appendix 6 (Thompson, 2011). The true mean of age from the full data is 58 years. Hence, the fact that the true mean falls within the confidence interval bounds is verified. The average total transaction dollars for all accounts is 7,770. The lower bound of the total transaction dollars for 95% confidence interval is 6975.95. The upper bound of the total transaction dollar for 95% confidence interval is 8564. The relevant calculation has been shown in Appendix 7. The true mean of total transaction from the full data is 8022 dollars. Hence, the fact that the true mean falls within the confidence interval bounds is verified (Reyna, 2010). Hypothesis Testing Difference of Mean for Account Balance between Male and Female A hypothesis test was performed in order to test if there is a difference in mean value of accounts between male and female. The hypothesis clearly indicates that the mean value of account balance for both males and females is the same. More details are given in Appendix 8. Difference of Mean for Average Transaction Dollar for Visa and Non-Visa A hypothesis test was performed in order to test if there is a difference in mean value of average transaction dollar between Visa and Non-Visa. The hypothesis clearly indicates that the mean value of account balance for both Visa and Non-Visa is the same. More details are given in Appendix 9 (Paiva, n.d). Correlation and Regression The scatterplot of the diagram has been displayed below. The x axis represents the age and Y axis represents the transaction. The linear regression model will take the form given below The coefficient of determination of this regression model is 47.20%. In other words, 47% of the variation in transaction is explained by age. Age has negative relationship with transaction (in dollars). In other word, an increase in age by one unit decreases the transaction by 114.91 dollars. Essentially, decrease in age leads to an increase in transaction (in dollars). See Appendix 10 for the Output Table. The coefficient of correlation is -0.47 between these two variables. See Appendix 11 for the Output Table. The hypothesis that was conducted revealed that the coefficient is statistically different from zero. Check Appendix 12 for the Output Table (Anderson, 2000). Conclusion A number of key findings has been derived from the report. The most important finding was that age has negative relationship with transaction. The bank should make an attempt at finding out the reasons that leads to this negative relationship. In fact, the transaction of individuals should increase with age but in this case it does not. All the other leases under Woolworths are categorized as operating leases. Payments of the operating leases are identified as a cost, which is based on the straight-line method over the term of lease (Deegan 2012). Payments of the rental lease are increased by fixed rate, but that will be excluding the contingents. Similarly, there is an increase in the rentals of the index based are identified over the straight-line method on and over the term of lease. Based on the straight-line method the differences in the amount asset and liability are paid as well as the amount of the lease. An incentive, which is received from the operating lease, is primarily identified as liability and then it is identified as lease expense by straight-line me thod over a certain lease term (Deegan 2016). Concerning Leasehold improvement every year, there has been increased improvement. For the leasehold property there was useful life of maximum 25 years that to in the retail property, whereas, 40 years in the case of hotels (Samkin and Deegan 2012). Amortization of the Leasehold improvements was comparatively shorter for the left over period of the leases of individual or the estimation of the useful life was done for the growth of the entire Woolworths. Leases are also available under the current and non current borrowings. The disclosure of the lease has been done by the Accounting Standards, i.e., AASB 117 (Weil et al., 2013). Under the Australian Financial Reporting Standard AASB 117 is related to the disclosure of leases is the setting of the paragraphs from 1 66. AASB 117 had commenced on July 15, 2004, and an application was made on January 1, 2005 (Horngren et al., 2012). BHP Billiton In case the of BHP Billiton there was decrease in the net finance cost which was reflecting the gains achieved from foreign exchange on the finance lease with redemption of Petrohawk Energy Corporation, this leads to resulting in profit for the redemption as well as expense for the lower interest (Wang 2014). There is option of renewal and extension of the specific leases. An asset which was under the system of leas e, which was arising from the receiving of the group and substantially all risk and rewards in the ownership of assets are being capitalized as lower fair value of all the property, plant and equipment. The estimation was presented on the payments of lease with minimum value. The correspondence in the obligation of the lease in finance and will be included inside the bearing of the interest in liabilities (Arnold 2012). Provision will be made on the present value of the operating lease payments, which will be in surplus to the space of the lease. Rights of the oil and gas will be initially taking the form of a lease. Similarly, it will also owe the onshore outright in fee. Operating on the lease of the rent payment is being decreased since 2013 (Adibah Wan Ismail et al., 2013). In Macedon and Stybarrow there was production of license, which was issued which, was issues by Australia Government after the expiration of the five years of the production process. Operating lease is identi fied as liability when subsequent and receiving on the allocation of the payments of lease, which will be between the expenses of the rental liability and reduction in it (Deegan 2013). The rules, standards and regulation of the policy related to disclosure of lease that will be done on the standards of accounting in Australia in relation with AASB 117. Australian Accounting Standard Board was made as AASB 117 under the Section 334, of the Corporation Act 2001 (Yu and Wahid 2014). The main aim of the AASB 117 Leases is for the prescribing for lessors and lessees should disclose accounting policy about the prescribed rules and standards should be appropriately applied. Part 2: Disclosure of liabilities - Provisions and contingent liabilities Woolworths Provision of the Woolworths are identified under the group, which is presented as legal body on the obligation of constructive result on the events of the past, it will be obvious that economic conditions (Kraal et al., 2015). Provision is distinguishable from the other liability like accounts payable and accruals because of the uncertainty about the timing of the or for the expenditure of the future settlement is necessary it will be governed under AASB 112. Employee benefit is identified for the advantage of leave, which will be annual and service of long duration, which is as per AASB 119 Employee Benefits. Self Insurance risk will be initially estimated for the liability for compensation of the worker and liability of the public claim (Camfferman. and Zeff 2015). Provision of the restructuring is to be identified in the group, which will be developed for the detailing of expectation in validity. Borrowing in the liability section will be identified initially at fair value, which is less attributable to the cost of transaction. Subsequent in the borrowing are stating in the amortization cost (Carey et al.,2014). If there is any difference relation to cost and redemption which will be identified in the consolidated profit and loss statement of the period (Bond et al., 2016). Under the head of liability there are many other divisions with other major head as current liability and non- current liability. A current liability is included in trade and other payable, borrowing, other financial liability, provision and income tax payable. Non Current liability is following the content of both of them are followed by the standard of "AASB 1044". One more accounting standards are in the provision of the Australian Accounting Standards which has to deal with a specific kind of provision, and contingent liability and entity for the application of standard. The trade payable is the payment of the liability and other goods and services which in replied in the invoices f or getting agreed by the supplier (Guthrie and Pang 2013). Accruals in the division of the liability will be received and supplied, however not paid. It will be included in the due amounts of liability. All the standards related to the liability and provision is truly fulfilled by the BHP Billiton and that to true with its aspects. On the overall analysis of the provision and contingent it is because of relation to the uncertainty of the amount and time. Moreover, inside this standard the contingent is utilized for the liabilities which will not be identified because of the existence in the confirmation because of the occurrence and non occurrence because one and more future of uncertainties in the event but not wholly under the entity which will be controlled. For providing the consistency and going forward for avoidance of the more complexity. AASB has many accounting standards that will be exercised incompliance with information of the standard. The accounting standard will be an applicable short-term project, for the improvement in the clarity and consistency. The federal government should consider the present small and large thresholds given a determination of appropriation of the level at the following entity. The long is the project there is existence of the complexity in the accounting standards of AASB. The standard adopted by both the company in relation with AASB 137 is difficult for the maintenance because it is affecting the investors for the further investment in the company. The accounting standards of the BHP Billiton in respect to the revenue generation is not effective, for making improvement there has to be effectiveness in the implementation. In case of Woolworths, the intangible way of showing depreciation of the assets is not proper, for the generation of profit in respect of Gross profit; company needs to adopt policies relating to the exemption. Further, both the company should invest some more portion of the income in the corporate governance because of this will help both the company in getting the value of the goodwill being increased. Further, for the improvement in the accounting standards, the company needs to change its policy for the improvement in the asset maintenance. Reference list: AASB, C.A.S., 2016. Introduction - How to Introduce a Topic in a Research Paper
Introduction - How to Introduce a Topic in a Research PaperBefore you go to the library or the bookstore and look for a topic in a research paper, here are some suggestions. This information will give you ideas of how to start your research. Although it is not necessary to follow these suggestions in every case, but many readers will appreciate them.Data entry can be a challenge. However, if you do not have much time, you might be tempted to use a table to express your ideas. Although it is a simple example, it can serve as a template for other methods of expressing ideas. When you are reading a research paper, you want to be able to hear what the author says. If you hear the words 'I,' 'me,' 'mine,' or 'our,' you are not hearing the author's ideas. This does not mean that you should avoid the words you are hearing; they may be correct. It just means that you should pay attention to whether you hear the thoughts of the person talking or whether you hear the thoughts of the person writ ing.One of the best ways to gain an understanding of the topic of a research paper is to think about how the author feels. You are probably sitting in the audience and not thinking about yourself. However, the subject of the paper will probably affect you. The person writing the paper will likely feel the same way you do, and you can use this fact to learn about the topic and to reflect on your own feelings.Research papers sometimes do not contain research, which means that the ideas are based on existing data. Although you should take care to obtain all of the facts before using any ideas, the writer may have already drawn upon sources that were not addressed in the paper. Some examples are previous publications, political considerations, and general knowledge. Regardless of the source, it is important to put the idea in context with other ideas in the paper. You should have a sense of when the paper was written, but you also may find it necessary to discuss the data base in which t he ideas were based. For example, if you think about a particular topic in a research paper, you may find that it is most closely related to other topics you have researched in the past. You can make use of this fact by going back and discussing the general ideas in the paper with the research assistant. When you use ideas in your research paper, remember that you are introducing new ideas. This can be confusing but remember that the author of the paper did not come up with these ideas alone. They may have been derived from other materials or knowledge in the author's life. Try to help yourself understand the work by taking the time to discuss the material with the writer.Writing a research paper is not always easy. Sometimes, the ideas for a paper need to be shaped by the author's experience, interests, and ability. You can improve your writing skills by reading books, articles, and editing software, but you can also learn how to include ideas that are not in the text of the paper. The more you know about writing, the better you will be able to use the ideas you encounter in research papers.

In the early 1800 # 8217 ; s four of every 1000 people were illiterate. Grecian and Latin were taught in grammar school. Protestantism permeated the text editions, which caused the Catholics to make their ain schools. In the early 1800 # 8217 ; s, Horace Mann, as president of the senate in Massachusetts, initiated the first province board of public direction. He wanted public instruction to be Unitarian and did non believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ. He wanted province instruction with no Christian influence. Mann followed Germany # 8217 ; s Hegelian doctrine, which claimed nil was absolute and adult male # 8217 ; s thoughts were superior to Biblical rules. This was the of import displacement from nonsubjective worlds to subjective worlds. ( Mel Gablers ) In the early twentieth centur y, John Dewey, a university professor trained instructors in # 8220 ; progressive instruction # 8221 ; . Teachers today are instructed in this doctrine. Mr. Dewey was a signer of the Humanist Manifest # 1, and believed that Christianity was the rule job of society, a job to be solved through public instruction. He rejected belief in God, embraced development, and thought behavioural psychological science was the manner to command human behaviour. To make societal persons, Mr. Dewey advocated gradual alteration in the schools to toss off class faculty members and construct course of study around occupational activities, which would supply the maximal chance for socialisation. He admitted that high literacy produced persons who can stand on their ain two pess and think discerningly, something that would blockade the creative activity of a socialist Utopia. ( Blumenfeld Blumenfeld Education Letter January 1992 ) . In 1932 the National Education Association ( NEA ) stated that schools must make what the place and community had done in the yesteryear. In the 1960 # 8217 ; s a new psychological science, the # 8220 ; Third Wave # 8221 ; or # 8220 ; self-actualization # 8221 ; was developed by Abraham Maslow, Carl Rogers, and William Coulson. The thought that people needed to acquire in touch with and verbalise their deepest feelings and ideas was introduced into schools. Feelingss were taught alternatively of truth, subjective worlds. Dr. Coulson now maintains that it is black and that kids need to be taught the rudimentss and nonsubjective worlds. # 8220 ; We have got to stuff our childs caputs with truth and so we will give them something to believe with. # 8221 ; This translates into a supplication for lower degree accomplishment command before higher degree thought accomplishments are introduced, the antonym of today # 8217 ; s educational restructuring doctrine in Kansas and elsewhere. Quality Performance Accreditation redefines the mission of schools to officially implement affectional and psychological ends as portion of the instruction procedure. Rather than parents being the primary authorization for the kid # 8217 ; s socialisation, values, attitudes and behaviour, the school usurps that occupation. ( Blumenfeld ) . The first amendment provinces that congress shall do no jurisprudence esteeming an constitution of faith or forbiding the free exercising thereof. ( Giesler 1 ) . The fundamental law grants the free exercising of faith to every American, and that right should non disappear at the doors of a public school. Although the fundamental law does non overtly reference God, it does connote dependence upon a Creator through its last words, called the Subscription Clause. ( Religious Freedom Act ) . After the Constitution was written, the first 10 amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, were added to guarantee the care of certain autonomies non expressly stated in the Constitution. James Madison wrote the first amendment # 8220 ; faith clause, # 8221 ; and an earlier bill of exchange made his purposes clear: The civil rights of none shall be abridged on history of spiritual belief or worship, nor shall any national faith be established? When the Anti-federalist saw the word # 8220 ; nationa l # 8221 ; in Madison # 8217 ; s earlier bill of exchange, they argued that his usage of that word presupposed a powerful centralised authorities. That was non Madison # 8217 ; s purpose, so his diction was changed to the present building. Yet understanding intended to relieve the fright that a national church, such as the Anglican Church in Great Britain, would lift to officia cubic decimeter distinction. ( Historical Context of Constitution ) In 1962 the Supreme Court decided that public schools did non hold the power to authorise school supplication. This determination made public school in the U.S. more unbelieving than many European states. For illustration, crosses still hang on the schoolroom walls in Poland, and the Ten Commandments are displayed in Hungary. There are supplications held at the beginning of legislative and judicial Sessionss and every President has mentioned a godly power in his inaugural address. In maintaining with a spirit of spiritual freedom as stated in the First Amendment, there is no ground why pupils should non be allowed to hold a minute of silence during the school twenty-four hours when they can pray or make as they choose. ( Newsweek 124 ) . The instance Engel v. Vitale in 1962 decided that school supplication is unconstitutional. With this instance, it was pointed out that the pupils were to # 8220 ; voluntarily # 8221 ; declaim the undermentioned supplication: # 8220 ; Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependance upon Thee, and we beg Thy approvals upon us, our parents, our instructors, and our country. # 8221 ; The tribunal ruled that this regulation was unconstitutional harmonizing to the First Amendment # 8217 ; s # 8220 ; constitution clause, # 8221 ; which states # 8220 ; Congress shall do no jurisprudence esteeming an constitution of faith # 8221 ; . In response to the Engel v.Vitale instance some schools adopted a # 8220 ; minute of silence # 8221 ; . ( Barbara A. Simon 129 ) Thomas Jefferson wrote the celebrated phrase # 8220 ; separation and church # 8221 ; in a missive to the Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association in Connecticut. He was reacting to the missive they had written, which stated: ? Our Sentiments are uniformly on the side of Religious Liberty # 8211 ; That Religion is at all times and places a Matter between God and Individuals # 8211 ; That no adult male ought to endure in Name, individual or effects on history of his spiritual Opinions # 8211 ; That the legitimate Power of civil Government extends no further than to penalize the adult male who works ailment to his neighbour? Jefferson responded by stating: I contemplate with autonomous fear that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislative assembly should # 8216 ; do no jurisprudence esteeming an constitution of faith, or forbiding the free exercising thereof, # 8217 ; Thus constructing the wall between separation and church. Jefferson # 8217 ; s declaration of # 8220 ; a wall of separation between Church and State # 8221 ; expressed his sentiment that the federal authorities did non hold the authorization to # 8220 ; order even occasional public presentations of [ spiritual ] devotion. # 8221 ; He did non oppugn the cogency of spiritual belief, but constructed his # 8220 ; wall # 8221 ; to protect spiritual freedom of scruples from the potentially of one federally recognized faith. Today, Thomas Jefferson # 8217 ; s # 8220 ; wall # 8217 ; of separation # 8221 ; has been removed from its context. Jefferson upheld the rights of spiritual free look by pupils in an educational scene as demonstrated by the 3rd article of the Northwest Ordinance, which he wrote. It said: Religion, morality, and cognition being necessary to good authorities and the felicity of world, schools and the agencies of instruction shall everlastingly be encouraged. ( Danbury Letter ) . The Religious Freedom Amendment states that to procure the people # 8217 ; s right to admit God harmonizing to the dictates of scruples: Neither the United States nor any State shall set up any official faith, but the people # 8217 ; s right to pray and to acknowledge their spiritual beliefs, heritage or tradition on public belongings, including schools, shall non be infringed. Neither the United States nor any province shall necessitate any individual to fall in in supplication, or other spiritual activity, prescribe school supplications, discriminate against faith, or deny a benefit on history of faith. ( Religious Freedom Coalition ) The Religious Freedom Amendment would change by reversal tendencies of stamp downing spiritual look including student- initiated supplication in public schools. The RFA retains the First Amendment # 8217 ; s purpose that authorities should non command nor oblige faith in America, but should suit it the same as other signifiers of address. Prayer at football games has besides been banned at schools. Many pupils are looking to acquire off from that limitation. In Lyford, Texas a group called, Angels in the Endzone was formed to pray before a football game. Since the jurisprudence says that the school can non take supplication pupils gathered at the endzone along with the football participants to pray before the game. ( Willacy Times ; # 8220 ; Angels in the Endzone # 8221 ; : October12, 1999, A9 ) . At Van High School a church group went around the opinion of non praying before football games and brought a mike to the game and led a supplication themselves. ( Valley Morning Star # 8220 ; Alliance circumvents school supplication prohibition # 8221 ; : October 17, 1999, A5 ) In my research I have found that many people are for supplication in schools. I excessively am for supplication in schools. Now a yearss there are many Acts of the Apostless of force in schools and there needs to be some sort of order in schools. We were given the right to pray wherever we wanted harmonizing to the fundamental law. Prayer seemed to work in the old yearss and there did non look to be violent Acts of the Apostless the manner there is now.

Evangelista Torricelli and the History of the Barometer
Evangelista Torricelli and the History of the Barometer Barometer - Pronunciation: [b u romà ´ u t u r] - a barometer is an instrument for measuring atmospheric pressure. Two common types are the aneroid barometer and the mercurial barometer (invented first). Evangelista Torricelli invented the first barometer, known as the Torricellis tube. Biography - Evangelista Torricelli Evangelista Torricelli was born October 15, 1608, in Faenza, Italy and died October 22, 1647, in Florence, Italy. He was a physicist and mathematician. In 1641, Evangelista Torricelli moved to Florence to assist the astronomer Galileo. The Barometer It was Galileo that suggested Evangelista Torricelli use mercury in his vacuum experiments. Torricelli filled a four-foot long glass tube with mercury and inverted the tube into a dish. Some of the mercury did not escape from the tube and Torricelli observed the vacuum that was created. Evangelista Torricelli became the first scientist to create a sustained vacuum and to discover the principle of a barometer. Torricelli realized that the variation of the height of the mercury from day to day was caused by changes in the atmospheric pressure. Torricelli built the first mercury barometer around 1644. Evangelista Torricelli - Other Research Evangelista Torricelli also wrote on the quadrature of the cycloid and conics, the rectifications of the logarithmic spiral, the theory of the barometer, the value of gravity found by observing the motion of two weights connected by a string passing over a fixed pulley, the theory of projectiles and the motion of fluids. Lucien Vidie - Aneroid Barometer In 1843, the French scientist Lucien Vidie invented the aneroid barometer. An aneroid barometer registers the change in the shape of an evacuated metal cell to measure variations in the atmospheric pressure. Aneriod means fluidless, no liquids are used, the metal cell is usually made of phosphor bronze or beryllium copper.ââ¬â¹ Related Instruments An altimeter is an aneroid barometer that measures altitude. Meteorologists use an altimeter that measures the altitude with respect to sea level pressure. A barograph is an aneroid barometer that gives a continuous reading of atmospheric pressures on graph paper.
